Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Plan, ensuring delivery against agreed priorities.
- Provide strategic advice, analysis and performance information to support the client in holding them accountable.
- Develop and oversee scrutiny frameworks covering performance, criminal justice, equality, complaints and community safety.
- Lead the scrutiny, policy and assurance functions, ensuring robust governance and accountability arrangements.
- Manage and develop a team of Scrutiny Officers, Policy Officers and Analysts, ensuring effective performance and professional development.
- Produce high-quality reports, briefings and recommendations.
- Evaluate performance data, identify emerging risks and trends, and recommend corrective action where required.
- Lead organisational policy development, review and implementation to support priorities and statutory responsibilities.
- Work closely with senior leaders, partner agencies and elected representative support strategic objectives.
- Support organisational change and transformation projects, ensuring alignment with the vision and priorities.
- Contribute to strategic responses to inspections, consultations, policy developments and legislative changes
