Disrepair Surveyor

Disrepair Surveyor needed in Bristol, £231.22 per day PAYE – Reference: 5306171

A Disrepair Surveyor is responsible for investigating disrepair claims, assessing property defects, determining liability, specifying remedial works, and providing professional evidence to support the landlord’s response to legal claims.

• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of disrepair claims from initial investigation through to completion, undertaking detailed property inspections to identify defects, determine causation and assess the extent of the landlord’s repairing obligations.
• You will diagnose a wide range of building defects including damp and mould, water ingress, structural issues, roofing defects, drainage problems, heating failures, ventilation issues and general property disrepair, producing clear technical reports and specifications to facilitate remedial works.
• Working closely with repairs teams, contractors, legal representatives and housing colleagues, you will monitor the progress of works, ensure repairs are completed to the required standard and verify satisfactory completion through post-inspections where required.
• The role requires strong knowledge of building construction and defect diagnosis, with the ability to assess risk, identify health and safety concerns, and prioritise works based on urgency and resident impact.
• You will provide technical advice and evidence in relation to legal disrepair claims, prepare reports and witness statements as required, and support the organisation in minimising legal exposure whilst meeting its statutory obligations.
• A key aspect of the role will be maintaining effective communication with residents, managing expectations, resolving access issues and ensuring a customer-focused approach throughout the life of each case.

This is a full time role on a Temporary contract basis.
