Head of Facilities Management & Compliance needed in North London Paying £605 per day ref 013705

We are seeking an outstanding Facilities Management professional to lead the delivery of Facilities Management and Statutory Compliance services across a diverse property portfolio.
As Head of Facilities Management & Compliance, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all Hard and Soft FM services, ensuring that buildings remain safe, compliant, efficient and fit for purpose. This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for statutory building compliance, contract management, service transformation and the development of long-term maintenance and asset resilience strategies.
Working closely with the Assistant Director of Property & Asset Strategy and senior stakeholders, you will drive service excellence across a hybrid model of in-house services and specialist external contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of Facilities Management services across a diverse property portfolio.
- Act as the organisation’s lead professional for Statutory Building Compliance.
- Support the development and delivery of asset management, planned maintenance and lifecycle replacement strategies.
- Contribute to organisational objectives by ensuring FM services are aligned with wider property and asset management priorities.
- Lead the implementation and embedding of the new FM Service Structure.
Facilities Management
- Provide leadership across all Hard and Soft FM functions.
- Manage and develop a large multi-disciplinary workforce, ensuring high performance and excellent customer service.
- Oversee the effective delivery of key services including maintenance, cleaning, security and catering.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across all FM operations.
- Ensure services deliver value for money and meet operational requirements.
Statutory Compliance
- Maintain robust compliance frameworks across all properties.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and statutory requirements, including:
- Fire Safety
- Water Hygiene and Legionella Management
- Asbestos Management
- Gas Safety
- Electrical Safety
- Health & Safety Regulations
- Establish effective monitoring, reporting and assurance mechanisms.
- Lead compliance audits, inspections and risk management activities.
Contract and Supplier Management
- Manage high-value outsourced FM contracts and service partnerships.
- Ensure contractual performance, compliance and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Lead procurement, mobilisation and performance management activities as required.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the principal technical interface for facilities and property-related services.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, service leads and external partners.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on facilities management, compliance and operational risk.
