Markets Operative

We’re currently recruiting for a Markets Operative to join a busy and friendly team. This is a hands-on, outdoor role where reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude are key.

The Role

You will be responsible for helping set up and maintain the daily operation of the market, including:

• Setting up and taking down market equipment, including umbrellas, tables, and stalls
• Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the market
• Speaking with and supporting market stall holders
• Ensuring the site remains safe, tidy, and presentable
• Working closely with fellow operatives and market staff

Working Hours

This is a rota-based position with shifts including:

• Early Shift: 6:00am to 2:00pm
• Day Shift: 10:00am to 6:00pm

There will be occasional Saturday cover required, with most Sundays off.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is reliable and punctual
• Enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Has good communication and customer service skills
• Works well as part of a team
• Has a confident and approachable manner
• Is happy carrying out physical tasks as part of the role
• Can build positive relationships with market traders and visitors

You will always be working alongside another operative, so this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a team environment.
