Major Planning Projects Officer needed in Guildford Paying  £52.50 per hr ref 5301057

Full time hours on a temporary basis

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the management and assessment of strategic, major and complex planning applications.
  • Negotiate with applicants, developers, consultants and stakeholders to achieve high-quality planning outcomes.
  • Manage Planning Performance Agreements (PPAs), ensuring projects progress efficiently from pre-application stage through to determination.
  • Prepare detailed committee reports, recommendations and presentations for Planning Committee meetings.
  • Represent the client at meetings, public consultations, hearings, inquiries and appeals where required.
  • Provide professional planning advice to applicants, councillors, internal departments and external partners.
  • Coordinate input from statutory consultees and other specialist teams.
  • Monitor development proposals to ensure compliance with planning policy, legislation and approved conditions.
  • Support the delivery of strategic planning objectives and regeneration priorities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior planning officers where appropriate.
