Lawyer – Planning Full Time Temporary

Lawyer – Planning needed in Camden £25.93 per hr PAYE – Reference:482168

 This role will involve:

• As a qualified solicitor or barrister with a good knowledge of planning law you will be asked to provide a comprehensive legal service to the planning department – one of the most high profile areas. The work will include drafting a range of Section 106 Agreements including those relating to high profile strategic developments; case managing complex planning inquiries, advising clients both in writing and orally, drafting licenses and Agreements relating to highways matters and clearing Committee reports. On occasion the post holder will be called upon to manage high profile cases attracting a high level of public interest.
• They will ideally have a working knowledge of local government law and an understanding of specific matters including Committee issues. Besides planning law they will also preferably have a basic knowledge of the other areas covered by the team including highways and licensing.  As well as existing skills it will be equally important for them to have the ability to develop their abilities and to adapt to constantly evolving legislation and client requirements.
• They will provide clients with a service focused on their needs and the needs of their service users. They will need to be a team player, aware of corporate priorities and supporting and linking to other members of the team but also have the ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. They will ideally be able to prioritise work in the face of statutory deadlines and juggle different responsibilities under pressure and to be confident and authoritative in dealings with clients and other stakeholders including elected members.  

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis
