Highways Engineer Contract Full Time

Highways Engineer based in Bristol and the rate is £19.50ph  

This is a part time temporary contract role.

As an experienced Highways Maintenance Engineer in this small team, you will have a varied workload and will offer engineering solutions for highways carriageways, footway resurfacing, drainage and small and medium scale repairs.

What you will be doing:

• Reporting on a day to day basis to the Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for planned highways projects with specified budgets and scheme briefs, which will include scheme design, supervision on site and settlement of final accounts with the term contractor or in-house service provider.
• In the role you will use your sound working knowledge of highways and the relevant legislation to ensure that all works undertaken are completed to specification and programme and also within budget.
• On a daily basis you will provide specialist advice and guidance on technical aspects of the role to colleagues and customers and will be preparing and presenting reports and technical briefing papers that support proposed asset/ service provision solutions
• The work involves a mix of office based administration/design and site visits coordinating with contractors and stakeholders on the highway network, including construction sites.
