Highway Maintenance Programme Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Highway Maintenance Programme Engineer to lead the delivery of a high-profile initiative focused on improving access for essential highway maintenance, drainage, and street cleansing activities.

This is a varied and hands-on role where you will work closely with residents, contractors, operational teams, and key stakeholders to overcome access challenges, coordinate maintenance programmes, and deliver visible improvements to local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate highway maintenance, drainage, gully cleansing, street cleansing, and related infrastructure programmes.
• Develop practical solutions to access and operational challenges affecting service delivery.
• Manage contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Coordinate traffic management, road space requirements, permits, and temporary access arrangements.
• Use asset management data to plan and deliver maintenance programmes and drive service improvements.
• Build positive relationships with residents, community groups, and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Monitor performance, manage risks, and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
