Trading Standards Officer needed in Gloucester, £45ph PAYE – Reference: 5296567
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Enforce food standards legislation by inspection, investigation, sampling and other means at trading premises across Gloucestershire.
- Investigate offences under regulatory legislation and take appropriate action under the Enforcement Policy, including conducting interviews in accordance with PACE 1984 and all other relevant legislation.
- Collect evidence and prepare case reports for possible prosecution in accordance with policy and attend legal proceedings, where necessary, on behalf of the Client.
- Undertake sampling of goods and services to determine if breaches of trading standards legislation are occurring, and take appropriate action under the Client’s Enforcement Policy.
- Advise businesses & traders of their legal obligations relating to trading standards legislation.
- Maintain proper records for all work undertaken.
- Undertake enforcement activities flexibly to match the trading times of our businesses.
- Ensure personal development in respect of all relevant legislation and ensure any changes are speedily and efficiently implemented.
- Behave according to the Employees’ Codes of Conduct and ensure that you are aware of your obligations and responsibilities re. conflicts of interest, gifts, hospitality and other matters covered by the Codes.
- Any other duties of a similar nature related to this post that may be required from time-to-time.
This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis.
