Service Manager New Homes Full Time Temporary

Service Manager New Homes needed in Southampton £77.49ph PAYE – Reference:5186095

This role will involve:

• To manage a team of estate regeneration managers to deliver the current remaining new homes programme including Starboard Way, and Townhill Park plot 2, 9 and 10. This involves ensuring that there is sufficient, appropriately skilled and experienced resources allocated to the programme. It also involves the development of a robust programme and regular monitoring process.

• The programme of new homes being directly delivered through contractors need to be delivered within the budget allocated. This involves the development of full and robust financial appraisals for each site and then for the programme as a whole, underpinned by sound assumptions, it involves robust management and monitoring of the budgets and compliance with the client’s financial regulations.

• The programme of new homes currently being directly delivered needs to be delivered to the highest standards in line with the design manual and client policies including the Green City Charter. The key elements of the Southampton Home need to be established and included in the Employers Requirements for each scheme. It is expected that the programme will include a wide range of innovative approaches included MMC. The Design Team will provide quality assurance where they are not directly delivering schemes.

• The programme for direct delivery will conclude at the completion of plot 10 Townhill Park. In parallel there is a need to develop a new approach to the delivery of affordable homes going forward. The approach going forward will involve developing partnerships with Housing Associations and developers. This could involve disposals and joint ventures. Initially the demand for new homes in the city needs to be reviewed and then all the sites reviewed and prioritised.

Ideally candidates will have:

• Relevant professional qualification.
• Minimum 10 years post qualification experience
• Demonstrate experience of managing new build housing projects through all RIBA stages. Experience of working in an organisation that has been party to joint ventures to secure new affordable homes with Housing Associations and developers.
• To be able to write briefing notes for Executive Directors and formal cabinet and reports where required.
• To be able to develop guidance documents and manuals.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
