Programme Support Officer Contract Full Time

Based in Rhymney Valley paying £15.33ph PAYE

This is a full time temporary contract role.

Our client is looking for a Programme Support Officer. To work closely with the Head of Finance, Risk and Assurance to make a key contribution to the success of the programme.

Your input will balance end-to-end financial leadership with the acumen and flair to support the Head of Finance, Risk & Assurance to assess and challenge high value commercial propositions. You will bring business rigour and diligence to the programme, enabling City Deal to scale its impact and build for the future. You will be able to operate in a political environment and across all levels of government. You will be high energy, proactive and resourceful and led by your desire to do the right things and not the easy things.

The main duties will be to provide day to day support to the Head of Finance, Risk & Assurance, to help discharge the following responsibilities: 

• To develop and maintain a business appropriate control environment for all City Deal operations, enhancing and improving associated governance structures and the overall programme delivery framework.
• To proactively identify areas of business risk and produce relevant and meaningful mitigation plans.
• To develop and oversee the approach to financial assurance, balancing the imperative to deliver projects and schemes in challenging environments and ensuring risks are identified, managed and mitigated.
• To demonstrate sophisticated understanding of risk and develop the processes and systems that enable and support Risk-Reward endeavours, ensuring audit, reviews and performance information is used to transform, innovate and identify hidden value.
