Private Rented Sector Officer Full Time Temporary

Private Rented Sector Officer needed in Wembley £17.27ph PAYE – Reference:5183370

This role will involve:

• To be responsible for the effective discharge of the client’s statutory duty for households to whom the client owes a full housing duty by making a Private Rented Sector Offer (PRSO). This will involve a composite assessment of their circumstances taking into account relevant legislation including but not limited to the Localism Act 2011, the Homelessness (Suitability of Accommodation) (England) Order 2012, Homelessness (Suitability of Accommodation) (England) Order 2003 and the Homelessness Code of Guidance.  The post holder will ensure that wherever possible households are housed as close as possible to Brent and where this is not possible, that an appropriate, suitable and affordable accommodation that meets the family’s needs is offered pursuant to fulfilment and cessation of the client’s housing duty wherever such accommodation is available.
• The post holder will have the ability for dealing with a range of such cases, including complex cases which may be subject to judicial review and ombudsman enquiries. The post holder will have a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures on homelessness and to provide innovative advice and solutions when dealing with complex and difficult cases.
• The post holder will also need to focus on managing the supply, upkeep and occupancy of the PRSO up to the time at which a re-application is no longer an option. This may include facilitating managed moves to optimise property use.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
