Principal Traffic Engineer

Principal Traffic Engineer needed in North London Paying  £29.20 per hr ref 013670

Full time hours on a temporary basis  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of traffic engineering and highway schemes.
• Provide expert technical advice on traffic management, road safety, and transport planning matters.
• Manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery within budget and programme.
• Undertake traffic assessments, analysis, and modelling to support decision-making.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, drawings, and contract documentation.
• Manage consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and policies.
• Support the development of traffic regulation orders, parking schemes, and highway improvement projects.
• Engage with residents, businesses, elected members, and other stakeholders on transport-related initiatives.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
• Contribute to strategic transport and highway planning objectives.
