Planning Lawyer

Planning Lawyer needed in Maidstone Paying  £32.10 per hr ref OR5114Full time hours on a temporary basis  

•  Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Lawyer to undertake all work required on a high-profile planning matter, particularly in relation to the negotiation and drafting of a Section 106 agreement under the supervision of the Planning Team Leader.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake all work required on a high-profile planning matter.
  • Negotiate and draft Section 106 agreements.
  • Provide legal advice and support to senior leaders and key decision-makers.
  • Advise at committees and member briefings on all aspects of property and regeneration law and procedures.
  • Operate in politically sensitive environments and demonstrate a good degree of political nous.
  • Engage in partnership working or within a shared service.
  • Implement best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement in the delivery of legal services.
  • Conduct case management and legal research, including reviewing statutes and legal precedents in planning and development law.
  • Draft legal documents, such as planning agreements and legal advice.
  • Familiarity with local development plans, neighbourhood plans, and supplementary planning documents.
