Legal Support Officer needed in Bootle, £14.07ph PAYE – OR101596
- This post has been established to improve outcomes for children, young people and families in Sefton by preventing drift and delay in legal processes, to make best use of resources and maintain the good reputation of the client within the Court arena and with other partners.
- To coordinate the efficient operation of processes and procedural requirements to ensure efficient and timely compliance with court timescales, including all expectations of the Public Law Outline.
- To support and challenge Children’s Social Care and Legal Services in ensuring that court timescales and orders are adhered to thereby working together to prevent delay for children and young people who are subject of court proceedings.
- This includes: Adoption, Fostering, and Childcare proceedings (public and private).
- To support the reputation of the Client within the court arena and with other partners by working together with managers in developing and delivering clearly defined standards and expectations
- Track Court directions and actions to ensure adherence with Court Orders and provide regular reports as required.
- Support Sefton’s good reputation within the Courts by preparing quarterly updates for the Head of Service identifying key strengths and areas for development.
- Liaise with partner agencies to ensure appropriate and timely sharing of information, e.g. medical reports.
- To ensure that cases agreed for Public Law Outline are fully compliant by identifying any delay to Tearn and Service Managers and through reporting to the Head of Service.
- To provide updates to Head of Service/Service Managers/SMT/Legal Services as required
- Attend Permanence Planning meetings and other meetings as required to identify any delays in the system
- Track Panel and meeting recommendations and actions and provide regular reports to the chair as required
- Support the children’s case transfer process and inform accepting. team of any upcoming filing dates and Court hearings in order to prevent delay.
