Kitchen Assistant

Kitchen Assistant needed in Bedford, £12.21ph PAYE – Reference: 5279358

• To assist in the preparation of high quality and nourishing meals to residents whilst maintaining a clean hygienic working environment.
• To maintain high standard of hygiene within the main kitchen and any satellite kitchen by adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines and cleaning schedules including deep cleaning of all areas.
• To ensure the health and safety of the kitchen is adhered to and reporting of concerns or hazards
• To assist the cook on simple frying, boiling, steaming etc of vegetables and preparation of salads, sandwiches and resident snacks.
• Where applicable to assist in setting up of dining furniture and preparing room for dining, and the clearing and dismantling of these.
• To restock satellite kitchens if applicable
• To wash crockery, cutlery, cooking, serving and kitchen machinery.
• To clean floors, walls and equipment in the kitchen and dining room where applicable, including cooking equipment as required.
• To assist the cook in any task associated with the catering as required and if applicable, to develop under instruction, skills in this area so that the cook can be understudied.

This is a Part time role on a temporary contract basis.
