Primary
Ensure that all activities under the post holder’s control are undertaken in such a way as to maintain proper Health and Safety standards and are in line with the Council’s Health and Safety policies, including the preparation and review of risk assessments and/or risk/benefit analyses.
Organise and coordinate improvement projects in parks, playgrounds, open spaces, and allotments, ensuring they are completed on time and to budget.
Liaise with the in-house grounds’ maintenance team to discuss standards of work, supply technical guidance and to encourage best practice.
Liasise and work collaboratively with other internal and external stakeholders; relevant internal departments such as Community Services, Councillors, external agencies, friends groups, residents, contractors and businesses to deliver deliver strategic goals and advise from an operational perspective.
Support our ground maintenance teams, Green Space colleagues, Tree team and volunteers in occasional on-site, practical conservation work, planting, and habitat creation.
Supervise contractors and volunteers on a wide range of schemes and projects to improve the value of the Borough’s green spaces.
Assist in the development of management plans for various parks and greenspaces
Assist in the management of events when as required
