Early Intervention and Sustainment Officer needed to work around Exeter Paying  £17.85 per hr ref 5304039

Full time hours on a temporary basis

  • Key ResponsibilitiesEarly Identification and Prevention
    • Identify individuals and households at risk of homelessness through data analysis, referrals and partnership working.
    • Engage with residents at the earliest opportunity to prevent homelessness and avoid crisis situations.
    • Target applicants on housing registers and those living in insecure accommodation arrangements.
    • Deliver creative and tailored interventions that support people to remain in their current accommodation wherever possible.

    Housing Advice and Tenancy Sustainment

    • Provide specialist housing advice, guidance and tenancy sustainment support.
    • Assist residents in exploring realistic housing options, including private rented accommodation and supported housing.
    • Support landlords and tenants to sustain tenancies through mediation, negotiation and problem-solving.
    • Act as a first point of contact for tenancy issues and accommodation breakdown risks.

    Partnership and Multi-Agency Working

    • Develop effective partnerships with statutory, voluntary and community organisations.
    • Work closely with Children’s Services, Adult Social Care, Health Services, support providers and court-based teams.
    • Participate in multi-agency meetings and coordinate preventative interventions.
    • Promote agreed referral pathways and support agencies in identifying households at risk.

    Safeguarding and Customer Support

    • Deliver services using trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches.
    • Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
    • Support vulnerable individuals experiencing instability due to relationship breakdown, affordability issues, overcrowding or informal living arrangements.
    • Maintain a high standard of customer care and professional conduct.

    Case Management and Performance

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and management information.
    • Monitor outcomes and contribute to service performance improvements.
    • Manage a varied workload effectively and meet service targets and deadlines.
    • Respond to complaints and enquiries in accordance with corporate procedure
