Coroners Officer needed in Westminster
This is a temporary role and the rate is £22.86ph PAYE

The successful candidate will support the Coroner in the investigation and case management of sudden, unexplained, violent, or in‑custody deaths, carrying cases from initial referral through to the conclusion of the investigation.
They will receive and assess reports of deaths, conduct detailed enquiries, gather medical and factual information, and liaise sensitively with bereaved families throughout the process. They will coordinate post‑mortem arrangements, work closely with pathologists, police and partner agencies, and manage documentation including medical records, witness information and investigative reports.
The successful candidate will prepare inquest files, support court proceedings, ensure witnesses attend as required, manage exhibits, and provide calm, professional assistance during openings, reviews and inquests. They will also record and investigate potential Treasure cases as directed, ensuring all legal and procedural requirements are met.
