Key Requirements
- Confident leadership style with strong technical credibility and the ability to influence, challenge, and collaborate across a complex organisation
- Degree‑level education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant technical discipline
- Level 4 (or above) qualification in fire safety management or asset compliance (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, Advanced Fire Safety Diploma, or equivalent)
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Building design and construction
- Fire strategies, life safety, and human behaviour
- Compartmentation and building fabric
- Building systems and their interaction
- Demonstrable experience in a building safety role, working with multiple stakeholders
- Extensive knowledge of statutory and regulatory building safety requirements, particularly for HRBs
- Proven experience analysing complex risk scenarios and developing practical, proportionate solutions
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation within the built environment
- Experience using digital systems to monitor, evidence, and report compliance and performance
- Membership of, or certification by, a relevant professional body or equivalent specialist training
