The successful candidate will undertake a range of duties across cemeteries, with a primary focus on grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, strimming, hedge maintenance, litter clearance, and the upkeep of cemetery landscapes to a high standard.

The role at times may also include supporting Bereavement Services operations through grave digging, sexton duties, memorial safety inspections, and ensuring cemeteries remain safe, respectful, and well-maintained environments for visitors.

The postholder will regularly interact with members of the public, funeral directors, contractors, and other stakeholders, providing a professional and sensitive service while supporting the effective discharge of statutory bereavement service functions.

The role operates on a rota basis when required and may include weekend working and later shifts providing operational cover up to 7:00 pm
