Social care commissioning officer needed in Birmingham £18.28ph ref 345297
Full time hours on a temporary basis.
Candidates will ideally have experience of commissioning or procurement – working in the Adult Social Care Commissioning Team you will play a supporting role in the day to day operations of the team. In terms of contract management and negotiating with care homes to put in place service agreements and agree care package fees. Using established processes, you will work closely with social workers and care home providers to ensure that the Client gets good value for money, and that providers are compliant with the various contracts in place. This will involve Quality/contract monitoring of providers, working with care providers, on improvement action plans monitoring, following up complaints/ responses and provider monitoring visits as this is a key role in Area working. The work will involve communicating directly with social workers, CQC – Care Quality Commission and care homes both face-to-face and by phone; using agreed templates and processes to communicate formally with care homes; keeping accurate records; analysing financial information and evidence received from care homes; using evidence to inform negotiations; using Client’s care records system to identify relevant information; and using the Client’s online procurement portal to create service agreements with care home providers.
