Transition Accountant needed to work hybrid Paying £45,091 per annum ref 5294840
Full time hours on a fixed term 6 month contract
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver all finance-related activities required for go‑live
- Design, configure, test, and embed financial systems, processes, controls, and governance arrangements
- Ensure robust financial reporting and budget management frameworks are in place
- Support finance system changes and transition activities associated with organisational restructure
- Lead finance input into cutover planning and early post‑go‑live stabilisation
- Work collaboratively across services and with multiple stakeholders to deliver a successful transition
- Operate at pace within a fixed‑term, delivery‑focused environment
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Essential)
- CCAB‑qualified accountant or equivalent experience
- Strong experience in financial accounting within local government, housing, ALMO, or a similar public sector environment
- Proven experience supporting finance system changes, restructures, or organisational transitions
- Strong technical understanding of:
- Chart of accounts design
- Reconciliations
- Financial controls
- Financial reporting
- Experience of working across complex stakeholder environments and organisational boundaries
- Ability to work at pace in a time‑limited, outcomes‑focused role
