Right to buy Legal Officer needed in Luton Paying £25 per hr ref 135807
Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Right to Buy transactions from application to completion.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to housing services and internal stakeholders on Right to Buy legislation and procedures.
- Prepare, review, and process legal documentation relating to Right to Buy sales, including notices, transfer deeds, leases, licences, and associated agreements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory Right to Buy requirements, regulations, and timescales.
- Liaise with applicants, tenants, conveyancers, mortgage lenders, valuers, and housing officers throughout the transaction process.
- Investigate title issues and property-related matters affecting Right to Buy sales.
- Draft and complete conveyancing documents and undertake routine property transactions.
- Respond to legal enquiries, correspondence, and requests for information relating to Right to Buy matters.
- Maintain accurate case records and use case management systems effectively.
- Monitor key dates and ensure timely progression of all cases.
- Assist with dispute resolution and complex Right to Buy queries where appropriate.
- Support senior lawyers with complex housing and property matters.
- Attend meetings with internal departments and external stakeholders as required.
- Produce reports, statistical information, and management data relating to Right to Buy performance.
- Contribute to process improvements and the development of efficient working practices.
