Public Realm Enforcement Officer needed in Cambridge, £21.65ph PAYE – Reference: 5298003
- To prevent; investigate and enforce against offences within the city including but not exclusive to environmental crimes including littering; fly tipping and waste management; illegal advertising and defacement; abandoned, untaxed and nuisance vehicles.
- To undertake statutory duties in regards to the collection and retention of stray dogs, and to undertake enforcement of dog control and dog fouling across the city. To take enforcement action in regards Byelaws and Orders and Public Spaces Protection Orders relating to streets and open spaces, and to assist with the co-ordination and action of multi-agency responses in regards to the travelling community and homeless within the city
- To be the first point of contact between the departments for issues relating to unauthorised encampments and assess their needs and welfare assessments.
- To carry out the day-to-day operations of the Public Realm Enforcement Team within the Streets and Open Spaces Operations Service and to provide weekend, and evening cover for the Team where required.
- To ensure compliance with legislative requirements in conjunction with the Enforcement Policy and to realise the medium term objectives achieving value for money outcomes.
- Contribute to the corporate objectives and overall success of client through effective working with colleagues in the Client and with partners and elected members.
This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis.
