Principal Planning Officer needed in Knowsley Paying £30.42 per hr ref 1517327
Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process complex planning applications, including major developments.
- Provide professional advice on planning matters to stakeholders, including developers, the public, and elected members.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to ensure compliance with planning policies and regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for planning committees and other decision-making bodies.
- Represent the council at public inquiries, hearings, and meetings.
- Mentor and support junior planning officers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Stay updated on changes to planning legislation and policy, ensuring the council’s practices remain compliant and effective.
Ideal Requirements:
- Degree in Town Planning or a related field.
- Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or eligibility for membership.
- Significant experience in a planning role, with a strong understanding of planning legislation and policy.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid UK driving license.
