Lawyer (Hybrid) needed in Sheffield, up to £60ph PAYE – Reference: 000A E8A7 / 1
We are looking for a lawyer with ideally significant experience of local authority governance to provide short term corporate governance support to cover for a period of staff absence.
Work will include:
· advising on the legal requirements and limitations of a committee system of governance (including area committees)
· advising on the legal requirements of the Council’s Constitution and contributing to a review of the constitution
· contributing to/advising on/reviewing/drafting policy documents and protocols connected with the operation of the constitution and the committee system
· advising on the scheme of delegations within the Constitution and the requirements for reports to decision-makers
· advising on local government constitutional and administrative law
· attending meetings as required
Candidates must ideally have current experience of advising on/drafting local authority constitutions.
This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis.
