Homelessness Officer

Homelessness Officer needed in Macclesfield Paying  £15.84 per hr ref 5290486

Full time hours on a temporary basis

• Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed Section 184 homelessness assessments in line with legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Provide specialist housing advice to residents facing homelessness or housing difficulties.
  • Develop and manage personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) to prevent or relieve homelessness.
  • Work closely with partner agencies, including social care, domestic abuse services, private landlords, supported housing, and voluntary organisations.
  • Maintain accurate case records using the council’s case management system.
  • Make decisions on priority need, intentionality, local connection, and eligibility.
  • Identify support needs and make referrals to relevant support or safeguarding agencies.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings where required to support vulnerable clients.
  • Explore creative housing solutions to maintain tenancies or secure suitable accommodation.
