The successful candidate will bring proven experience of working with vulnerable individuals in housing, health or social care within diverse inner‑city environments, demonstrating a clear understanding of the complex needs of homeless applicants, both singles and families. They will provide practical housing advice and tangible solutions in a statutory or voluntary setting, working empathetically and in a trauma‑informed way. With strong knowledge of homelessness and housing legislation—including the Housing Act, Homelessness Reduction Act, Protection from Eviction Act, Domestic Abuse Act and Public Sector Equality Duty—they will apply this effectively to casework. Advanced written skills will enable them to prepare reports, briefings and responses for varied audiences, while advanced verbal and empathetic communication skills will ensure sensitive support to vulnerable customers in pressurised situations. They will consistently meet performance standards, build and maintain effective partnerships with health and voluntary sector organisations, and uphold safeguarding responsibilities for children, young people and vulnerable adults, while ensuring compliance with GDPR.
