Highways Supervisor

Highways Supervisor needed in Derby, £17.18ph PAYE – Reference: 5295768

Oversee the maintenance, safety, and day‑to‑day operation of the local highway network, ensuring roads, footways, and related infrastructure are kept in good condition and meet statutory requirements.

Core Duties:
– Plan and supervise highway maintenance works, inspections, and repairs.
– Manage frontline teams and contractors to deliver safe, efficient operations.
– Monitor road conditions, identify defects, and ensure timely remedial action.
– Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, legislation, and policies.
– Respond to emergencies, severe weather, and incidents affecting the network.
– Coordinate resources, including labour, equipment, and materials.
– Liaise with residents, councillors, utilities, and other stakeholders on highway issues.
– Maintain accurate records, reports, and work documentation.
– Support budget control by monitoring costs and ensuring value for money.

This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis
