Highways Engineer

Highways Engineer  needed in Doncaster Paying  £45 per hr ref 000B 03B1 / 1

Full time hours on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities

• Act as project/programme manager for highway maintenance and improvement schemes
• Supervise and provide technical oversight to Clerks of Works and site-based staff
• Plan and deliver works programmes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification
• Apply strong engineering judgement to make informed technical decisions on design, materials, and delivery methods
• Undertake and oversee site inspections, condition assessments, and feasibility studies
• Promote and implement preventative maintenance techniques to extend asset life and reduce long-term costs
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with health & safety, CDM regulations, and industry standards
• Prepare and review technical specifications, cost estimates, and reports
• Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth project delivery
• Identify risks and implement solutions to maintain programme delivery
