Full time hours on a temporary basis
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and production of the annual Statement of Accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines.
- Act as the principal contact for External Audit, coordinating responses and resolving audit queries.
- Manage and oversee all VAT matters, ensuring accurate submissions and compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Prepare and submit Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) Returns where applicable.
- Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations.
- Oversee Accounts Payable functions and associated financial controls.
- Manage Treasury Management, banking arrangements, investments, borrowing, and cash management activities.
- Monitor and manage organisational Cash Flow requirements.
- Prepare and submit Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) returns.
- Complete and submit Delta Returns and any other required statutory reporting.
- Provide technical accounting advice to senior management and stakeholders.
- Support financial year-end processes and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and accounting standards.
- Attend meetings across the county and provide financial expertise to support strategic decision-making.
- Undertake any additional corporate finance activities required to ensure the effective operation of the finance function.
