Finance Analyst needed in St Albans Paying £18 per hr ref 5267011
Full time hours on a temporary basis
Responsibilities:

Monthly Management Reports and Variance Analysis:
- Produce monthly management reports and conduct variance analysis.
- Review the Full Year Forecast with Budget Managers and revise as needed.
- Highlight risks of overspend and income shortfalls to avoid financial problems going undetected.
- Provide financial information, analysis, and recommendations to enable management to make financially sound business decisions.

Support for Statutory Accounts Preparation:
- Assist the Finance Manager (Systems and Controls) and the Team Leader Controls in preparing Year End working papers for assigned areas.
- Support the preparation of Statutory Accounts and assist with audit questions.

Financial Analysis for Management Reports:
- Produce financial analysis for inclusion in management reports for various user groups including Budget Managers, Corporate Management Team, Cabinet, and Overview and Scrutiny Committees in accordance with agreed timescales.

Systems and Procedures Development:
- Support the development and implementation of systems, procedures, and information processes to improve the level of financial support provided to the council.

Benchmarking and Performance Improvement:
- Conduct systematic benchmarking of services and operations against other service providers, and key performance indicators.
- Provide proactive advice and guidance to managers on handling their financial activities based on benchmarking results.
