Facilities Officer needed in Shepton Mallet

The successful candidate will undertake statutory compliance checks across corporate and commercial multi-let buildings, ensuring weekly Health and Safety compliance through routine testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, evacuation chairs, panic alarms, fire extinguishers, and basic electrical systems. They will carry out visual asbestos inspections, tree assessments, microwave and CO₂ testing, and monthly utility readings in line with agreed schedules. The role involves maintaining accurate records of checks, faults, and defects, updating compliance systems such as Civica and B-Safe, and supporting risk assessment reviews. The candidate will identify and escalate Health and Safety issues, conduct DSE assessments, and assist with resolutions. Additionally, they will provide incident control support during fire, bomb, or security events, acting as a fire warden or first aider as required.
