Debt Recovery Officer needed in Wembley

This is a temporary role and the rate is £20.08ph PAYE

The successful candidate will take responsibility for recovering a wide range of debts, including Housing Benefit overpayments, using a strong working knowledge of NEC systems to manage, monitor and progress cases effectively. They will apply a variety of recovery techniques to secure payment, balance customer circumstances with organisational financial priorities, and ensure all action aligns with legislation, case law and ethical recovery practices.

The successful candidate will handle complex enquiries across multiple channels, maintain accurate and comprehensive case records, and proactively follow up on defaulted arrangements or absconded debtors, as reflected in the requirement to “use a variety of debt recovery techniques to enable successful recovery of all debts” and “take ownership of debt cases, making arrangements, pursuing payment, taking cases through the debt recovery process.”  They will work collaboratively with legal services, enforcement agents and investigation teams, contribute to positive stakeholder relationships, and support wider service objectives through strong analytical skills, clear communication and a customer‑focused approach.
