Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop and manage community safety projects and initiatives, including supporting the implementation of new national policy and legislative changes.
- Monitor contractual agreements, performance management frameworks and KPIs, holding delivery partners to account where performance or impact is a concern.
- Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with local and regional partners to deliver agreed strategic priorities and statutory responsibilities.
- Support the development of community safety–related policy and associated delivery plans.
- Lead the production, implementation and monitoring of action plans and performance reports aligned to key priorities.
- Proactively source, analyse and manage community safety data to produce timely, accurate and high‑quality reports for senior stakeholders.
- Support public‑health and evidence‑based approaches to crime prevention and reduction, including needs assessments and evaluation reporting.
- Support proactive identification and securing of funding to deliver strategic programmes and initiatives.
- Represent the organisation on community safety matters at relevant meetings and forums, deputising for senior leads where required.
- Coordinate statutory and partnership board meetings, including agenda setting, report production and partner engagement.
- Produce and oversee delivery of training programmes on areas such as Prevent, youth violence, exploitation, modern slavery and anti‑social behaviour.
- Support the delivery of communications plans to promote community safety activity and share key messages with stakeholders and communities.
- Monitor key incidents and emerging risks to communities, supporting proportionate responses to tensions or cohesion issues.
- Respond to formal stakeholder enquiries accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, strong customer focus and effective use of organisational IT systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, data protection requirements, financial regulations and health and safety obligations.
