Senior DevOps Developer (Hybrid) needed in Camden, £26.09ph PAYE – Reference: RQ1494911

As part of the Applications Development Team, you will have the option to work remotely but are expected to work from our main offices in Kings Cross at least one day a week. 

You’ll be joining the Applications Development team, who are part of the broader Applications Group. You will be reporting to the Software Development Manager. You’ll also work closely with colleagues in “Contact, Technology and Data Services” and colleagues from across the organisation.

Your experience should ideally include:
1) 4 years industry experience.
2) Experience of Linux upgrades and support.
3) Software Engineering experience – preferably Java/JavaScript/Python.
4) Cloud migration, preferably Azure.
5) Source control – preferably Git.

  • As a key member of a DevOps Team, you’ll be working to build and maintain infrastructure and platforms both in our on-premise Linux estate and in the cloud.
  • Alongside this, you’ll support the migration of key applications to cloud hosted services, working as part of empowered teams to flexibly and efficiently understand, maintain, improve and update, our complex estate of applications.
  • Using Agile ways of working, you’ll be encouraged to identify new ways of solving problems.

• Working using agile techniques as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help deliver a mix of small projects and larger product roadmap items. 
• Automate the build and deployment of existing applications, either on-prem or in the cloud.
• Automate the configuration and deployment of system environments
• Address 2nd and 3rd line support issue
• An established member of the Out-of-Hours Support rota (additional pay)
• Fixing faults following agreed procedure.
• Ensuring quality assurance is a key part of delivery – both taking responsibility personally and integrating automated methods. 
• Help to define excellent business processes, user experiences and technical standards.
• Influence our ways of working, helping to bring new ideas to the table to improve efficiency, stability and ease of change.

 

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
