Senior Temporary Accommodation & Private Lettings Officer needed in Grays, Essex paying £21.27 per hr PAYE Ref: 421008
This role is working full time hours on a temporary basis
Responsibilities:
Works in a proactive and positive way to market the benefit of private rented accommodation to homeless households.
Acts as an advocate for households looking to move into private rented accommodation.
Ensures that residents in the full range of temporary accommodation are aware of the assistance available to them and the circumstances under which they can discharge its statutory homelessness duty into the private rented sector.
To take an active role in the development and performance of the Housing Solutions Service in line with the HR policies.
To ensure all team members receive the appropriate level of communication to maintain engagement with the vision, priorities and activities.
To challenge, manage and resolve poor performance where it exists within the team.
Ensure that all of the hostels are safe, clean well managed and in a good state of repair, and that they meet all of its statutory obligations, including those relating to gas and fire safety, property condition and health and safety.
To deputise for the Rehousing Manager as required, and in their absence, cover the general supervisory aspects of that post, including team meetings, in line with Departmental and Corporate policies. Manage, motivate and develop the Temporary Accommodation Service to achieve high standards of customer care, ensuring that work is closely monitored and carried out in line with legislation, regulations and the policies and procedures.
Leads with regular supervision and appraisal, setting professional standards as appropriate, in order to ensure a consistently high standard of work, an equitable distribution of the workload, and the effective monitoring of performance and outputs.
Produce, review and update the teams annual work plan, ensuring that the contents reflect Government and Corporate priorities, progress is closely monitored, and service priorities are met in line with the work plan.
To deal with legal challenges against statutory decisions including working closely with the Appeals and Reviews Officer and legal advisors to prepare responses and represent the Client at court, if required
Effectively represent the Housing Solutions service on multi-agency groups and forums in relation to specific cases, such as MARAC, Child Protection issues and DV reviews.
Under the guidance of the Rehousing Manager, develop joint protocols and working arrangements with other agencies to maximise the range of housing options in the borough Chair cross-service and multi-agency meetings relating to housing advice.
To participate in reception and late duty rotas (outside office hours) as required to ensure that all customers receive the appropriate response on the day.
Contribute to the Team Plan and understanding of own contribution in order to ensure delivery of this plan and assist the manager to develop suitable performance targets and monitor team performance against these, drawing up assessment and improvement frameworks for individuals or the advice team where required
