Revenues Service Lawyer Contract Full Time

Revenues Service Lawyer needed in based in Ellesmere Port and the salary is £18.00ph PAYE

This role will involve:

Deal with complex matters, provide complex advice at an advanced level and undertake a substantial caseload of complex matters with minimal supervision. Delivering high quality legal advice and services on a variety of complex matters to Directors, senior managers and their staff, including where appropriate legal agreements, to ensure that policy is formulated, and operational decisions are taken on a sound legal basis

Undertake negotiations in order to protect and further the objectives of the client, and where necessary undertake complex legal work delivering legal advice to officers within the Corporate Debt team and wider Authority to ensure that policy is formulated, and operational decisions are taken on a sound legal basis. Maintaining high standards of financial management and record keeping, keeping the service advised and updated throughout.

Participate and contribute in project teams to ensure the delivery of high quality legal and advice and services to the Corporate Debt Team and wider Authority. Dealing with correspondence with client service, debtor and Court where necessary.

Provide legal and procedural advice to Members and, where necessary, outside bodies to ensure that policy and operational decisions are taken in the most effective and beneficial way.

Ideally candidates will have:

• Obtained or working towards full ILEX qualification (Fellowship)
• Ability to lead transformation activity and manage organisational change and development within a financial/performance/ commercial
• Analytical, ability to research and appraise and evaluate financial and strategic issues and options.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Local Government and public law and thorough understanding of relevant law.
