Residential Technical Officer Full Time Temporary

Residential Technical Officer needed in Hertford paying £15.36 per hr PAYE Ref: 408881

This is working full time hours on a temporary basis

Responsibilities:

• In addition to carrying out a range of proactive inspections and investigations, respond to and action requests for service in accordance with council procedures. Initiate enforcement action where necessary, in consultation with the appropriate Senior Environmental Health Practitioner.
• Take appropriate enforcement action (informal warnings, service of notices and issuing fixed penalty notices etc) in accordance with council policies and procedures and support legal proceedings as necessary
• Respond to and action service requests in respect of the ‘Residential’ areas of Environmental Health within target times and in accordance with procedures
• Help to support a culture of commercial awareness, continuous improvement and innovation.
• To assist with development and implementation of schemes designed to improve the areas of work in the ‘residential’ areas of Environmental Health.
• Manage your own caseload in accordance with procedures and keep effective records.
• Actively seek out and identify potential houses in multiple occupation (HMO) and unlicensed HMOs.
• To participate in the processing of grants or other forms of assistance or encouragement to maintain or improve housing, including carrying out the financial test of resources, and inspecting works for payment of grants.
• To assist in the promotion of home energy efficiency.
• Arrange for the maintenance and calibration checks on equipment used in residential area.
