Repairs Surveyor needed in Swindon paying £33.64 per hr Ref OR4656

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise building maintenance operatives to ensure cost-effective and economical use of resources. Advise Repairs Managers on resource levels required for individual jobs.
  • Ensure all work is carried out within priority periods and to a high standard.
  • Pre-inspect work to identify content, duration, and materials required. Liaise with surveyors to clarify descriptions before work commences to reduce delays.
  • Produce detailed schedules of works and specify job requirements for the in-house workforce.
  • Pre-order non-stock and stock materials for larger or more complicated works, ensuring timely collection or delivery to site.
  • Monitor the delivery of repairs in line with agreed policies and performance standards.
  • Work with planners to ensure works are correctly appointed with adequate time allocation.
  • Conduct site compliance inspections to ensure equipment and safety measures are up to date.
  • Collaborate with Building Surveyors to diagnose building repair solutions for corporate assets.
  • Carry out post-inspections of completed works to ensure accuracy in materials, time, and plant claims. Investigate complaints of poor workmanship.
  • Organize and control contractors engaged by the building maintenance department.
  • Report post-inspection and health and safety inspection results to Area Managers.
  • Assist with any completed work queries.
  • Respond to correspondence regarding repairs and maintenance complaints and service delivery inquiries from tenants, leaseholders, tenant representatives, Members of Parliament, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend tenancy and public meetings, prepare necessary reports, and provide technical advice and recommendations.
  • Provide evidence to the Police and Judiciary as required.
  • Monitor and manage appointment slots and the delivery of out-of-hours services in collaboration with planners.
