Public Health Contracts and Commissioning Officer Full Time Temporary

Public Health Contracts and Commissioning Officer based in Hackney with a rate of £21.65 per hr

This role will involve:

• Take a lead role or provide support, as directed by the Commissioning Manager, on key projects or initiatives.
• Support the commissioning of quality services to meet performance measures and external inspection requirements and standards.
• Undertake evidence gathering and support intelligence-based commissioning design
• Support consultation and engagement with stakeholders, including service user groups
• Analyse data and produce presentations to demonstrate findings and feedback from engagement and consultation with direction and support.
• Take the lead where appropriate and/or support as necessary. Support all aspects of procurement including adhering to London Borough of Hackney’s procurement code of practice, and legislative requirements, procurement timetables, tender panels, moderation meetings, issuing contract notices and development of terms and conditions of contract, service, specifications and performance standards
• Contribute to the development of service specifications and Method Statement questions

Ideally candidates will have:

• Formal qualifications, preferably to a degree level, or equivalent experience including CIPS or working towards this.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
• Working knowledge and skills in commissioning, needs analysis and strategy development and implementation of procurement processes including UK contract law
• A knowledge and understanding of the operations of local government including the current financial, legal and political issues facing sector management
• A knowledge and understanding of the NHS, Local Authority, primary care and voluntary sector provisions relating to the commissioning and delivery of public health services.
