Principle Highway Engineer in Bradford £70ph ref 5252704 Full Time Temporary

1. Provide management and leadership to one of two Highway Maintenance teams overseeing the feasibility, design, procurement and construction of a range of projects in the allocated parliamentary constituencies in accordance with policies, budget provisions, the Constitution of the Client and financial regulations.
2. To provide expertise to other Principal Engineers, and the Highway Services Manager, as a highway maintenance expert giving recommendations and guidance to the same on the continued application and development of the discipline in addition to ensuring that the legal obligations as Highway Authority under the relevant legislation are fulfilled through the development of Council policies, funding bids and programmes of work to maintain the highway asset based upon an evidence based asset management approach.
3. Support and advise the elected members of the client, as the accountable representatives of the public, responding effectively to their needs and those of the Assistant Director (Planning, Transportation and Highways) and the Highway Services Manager in respect of service delivery. Act as the Council’s technical specialist in Highways Maintenance engaging with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, representatives from other district councils and national professional institutions and bodies.
