Principal Environmental Health Officer needed in East Devon paying £36876k per annum PAYE Ref:5149129
This is working full time hours on a permanent basis.
We are seeking a Principal Environmental Health Officer to lead and manage our Environmental Protection team. You will be responsible for providing an effective and comprehensive, customer-focused service in accordance with legislation and agreed service standards acting as lead officer for Environmental Protection (environmental/animal activities permits, air quality, community protection, noise and other statutory nuisance, national assistance funerals, bathing water quality, contaminated land, pest control, found dogs, and planning/licensing consultations) matters.
You must possess an in-depth understanding of the effective application of related legislation and enforcement processes and be qualified, as a minimum, to the equivalent of Environmental Health Officer level – ideally you will be a member of the CIEH. In addition, you will hold and ILM level 5 or equivalent qualification in management or have equivalent experience. Recent experience of delivering a similar service; managing and motivating a team; and reviewing, developing, implementing and monitoring environmental health policy and strategy are also essential. You will also be adept at utilising technology for service delivery and able to make timely and confident decisions on complex matters as well as having excellent communication and influencing skills
