Principal Constitutional Services Officer needed in Oldham £21.00 ph PAYE – Reference: 0005 14DC / 1

This role will involve:

  • To assist in the management of the servicing and administration of the client’s formal decision-making processes, including meetings of the Cabinet, Standards Committees and regulatory committees. Servicing includes agenda preparation and dispatch, liaison with committee chairs and chief and senior officers, attendance at meetings and briefing sessions, preparation of minutes and action sheets, associated follow up work and monitoring of action and outstanding matters.
  • To support the Head of Democratic Services with the management, day-to-day supervision and motivation of Constitutional Services staff and to promote teamwork within the section.
  • To deputise for the Head of Democratic Services as required.
  • To undertake such action to ensure the personal and professional development of the Constitutional Services section as appropriate to the needs of the service and in accordance with policy.
  • To anticipate and alert the Head of Constitutional Services to problems arising from the work of the section.
  • To assist the Head of Democratic Services in the production and maintenance of the service improvement plan for the section, and any other plans required by the client.

This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis.
