Planning Officer needed in Knowsley Paying £35 per hr Ref 1408510

Full time hrs on a temporary basis

Key responsibilities include:

• 1. Deputise for the Development Control Team Leader as needed.
  2. Manage a varied caseload of complex development applications and appeals, preparing clear and accurate reports.
  3. Ensure planning applications and appeals meet service targets and comply with relevant guidance and legislation.
  4. Prepare reports and recommendations for committees and present them as required.
  5. Present evidence at appeals/public inquiries when necessary.
  6. Stay updated on legislation and best practices, advising the team and ensuring ongoing professional development.
  7. Support Technical Assistants to meet service targets and provide training as needed.
  8. Respond to enquiries and complaints under the guidance of the Team Leader.
  9. Represent the service at meetings with other organizations, maintaining high customer care standards.
  10. Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
  11. Assist with corporate initiatives, including work on the Local Plan.
  12. Demonstrate commitment to customer care, showing flexibility to achieve service priorities.
  13. Calculate fees and charges for planning applications as necessary.
  14. Validate planning applications as required.
