Part time Category Manager needed in Birmingham £250per day ref 334215

Requirement: 2 days per week initially; can increase to 3 or 4 days a week as procurement activity increases

Dates: circa mid April 2021 to mid July 2021 initially (scope to be extended)

Rate: £250 

Type of support needed: Someone strong in public sector procurement regulations. 

Desirables: Good stakeholder engagement, able to see past the “regulations” and balance regulations vs. business requirements (e.g., client says I want to use John Doe supplier; is able to say show me your requirements and I’ll give you some options on procuring where you may be able to include your preferred supplier) Important bit in that example is not to always say “the regulations say” but instead be pragmatic, step back and take time to think through potential options and discuss with H of Procurement where necessary.

Responsibilities/Deliverables: Attend steering group meetings representing procurement, work with project manager to plan procurement activity, facilitate the procurement activity within e-tendering system to include supporting business with writing of tender packs (requirements, bid rules, evaluation criteria, etc), supporting bid evaluations, moderation and awards.
