Out of hours/Unsociable hours customer service advisor needed in Bury £10.60ph ref 0008 0A61 / 1

Working on an house social alarm service. Providing a 24/7 service to some of the boroughs most vulnerable residents. Based at Bradley fold Ind Est, close to the Bury/Bolton boundary

The service is seeking staff to provide shift cover for planned and unplanned absences. No guaranteed hours per week, but expected to be up to 15 hours per week if the need arises.

Applicants need to be flexible in their approach, and able to work occasional shifts which may include Day, Evening and Night work.  Weekends and public holidays.

Most cover is planned, however a requirement for cover can occur at short notice on rare occasions.

Whilst it is not a requirement of the role to drive, Access to personal transport to and from work is advantageous.

Shift hours are:

Days:  06:00 to 14:15

Evenings: 14:00 to 22:30

Night:  22:00 to 06:30

Role:

Primary role is to receive calls via the Social alarm system, and provide support, advice and reassurance to a range of vulnerable groups.

Full training in equipment used will be given, though an understanding of social alarm receiving systems, particularly ‘PNC 8’ is an advantage.

Enhancements for shift work are payable, and pro-rata.

Applicants :

1. must have basic computer literacy, and be able to use windows applications such as outlook and word.
2. Must have excellent communication skills, particularly over the telephone
3. Must be able deal effectively with emergency situations, changing priorities, and be able to effectively manage their own work load.
4. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
