Locum Regulatory Solicitor needed in Newbury £19.64ph ref 5159392

This is working full time hours on a temporary basis.

Please read the role and skill requirements . They are very specific.

There will be flexibility in the rate for the right candidate.

There will be flexibility for home working.

• To personally undertake and maintain a caseload of work with primary emphasis in the areas of prosecution work and regulatory enforcement.  The caseload shall include both contentious and non-contentious work, but will be primarily contentious.   for example; enforcement and prosecution work covering all areas of the Public Protection Partnership, including Trading Standards, Environmental Health prosecutions and Licensing   
• Advising at relevant committees
• Conducting hearings in the magistrates courts and other courts as required
• To provide timely and appropriate good quality legal services to the Council, its service areas and the meetings of Members and Officers of the Council, including attendance at such meetings to ensure that decisions and actions comply with the Council’s Constitution and are defensible.
• To assist on high level, complex matters when required.
• To provide advice and guidance to Officers and Members including on the interpretation of legal documents to enable them to make balanced decisions.
