The post holder will take responsibility for day-to-day handling of the income recovery process, including court action, for service charge debt. They will also have involvement with drafting a variety of instructions to counsel, seeking and providing legal advice relating to, amongst other things, the Building Safety Act (2022) and implementation with service charge recovery, breaches of lease and compliance with service charge legislation.
They will work as part of a team of Litigation Officers. Taking instruction from the collections team, they will have responsibility for communicating with homeowners and the Courts for cases in their portfolio, that evidence and documentation is accurate and complete, and that the set timescales of the process are met. They will ensure that any queries raised as part of the process are fully answered. The post holder will ensure that the litigation process is conducted in accordance with the highest standards and will have responsibility for ensuring that financial interests and reputation are protected.
