Our client is looking for a Litigation Officer. This vacancy is for an integral position within the successful and well-established Litigation Team within the Residential Directorate and Homeownership & Rents department. The ideal candidate will seamlessly integrate into and bolster the current expertise and knowledge of the team. The post holder will measurably contribute to ensuring the Litigation Team continues to be a cost-neutral and income generating asset.

The ideal candidate will have solid previous litigation and/or landlord & tenant experience, as well as, involvement in advocacy before County Courts of the First Tier Tribunal. This role will help sharpen the post holder’s analytical, advocacy and forensic skills – at local governmental level –  and help them develop their problem-solving abilities by presenting them with high value, complex challenges.

  • Excellent knowledge of both statutory law and relevant case law on service charges
  • Experience of preparing and advocating for County Court and First-tier Tribunal
  • Ability to work independently and managing individual casework
  • Proven experience of leasehold management and service charge debt recovery
  • Experience of writing a statement of case, witness statement and replying to leaseholder/freeholder queries
